Travel Tips: 3 Activities You Can Enjoy in Singapore

Despite all the things happening around us today, we need to remember our world is still beautiful. So when everything has passed, and it’s safe once again, we should all go out there and rediscover the world. And what better way to do this than by travelling to a place you’ve never been?

If you’ve never been to Singapore, then you should consider making the city-state the first stop of your travels. The modern and progressive Southeast Asian country has a lot to offer to tourists of all ages. Take a look at some enjoyable activities you can do while in Singapore.

Eat to your heart’s content

With a wide variety of food to choose from in the city-state, you should eat to your heart’s content. Of course, popular local dishes like the Hainanese chicken rice and laksa are must-tries. In Singapore, you’ll also find food, such as Korean fried chicken and Indian rojak, from many of its neighbouring countries in the region. And if you suddenly find yourself missing Western food, there’s no need to worry, as fish and chips and burgers and fries are likewise served there.

There are various fast-food and fine-dining restaurants in the country. Still, if you want to try authentic yet affordable dishes and truly experience the local food scene, you should go to one or two of the country’s famous hawker centres.

Experience the sights and sounds

Any trip won’t be complete without seeing at least one or two local tourist attractions, and Singapore has many of these.

At the Gardens by the Bay, for one, you can explore two cooled conservatories — the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest — and enjoy the Supertree Grove, with its breath-taking lights and sounds display at night.

If you’re bringing along young children, the Night Safari of Wildlife Reserves Singapore will not only be exciting but also prove to be educational for every member of the family. For a relaxing time, you can head to the Marina Bay Sands Skypark Observation Deck and just admire the spectacular view of Singapore’s cityscape from 57 storeys up.

Shop ’til you drop

Singapore is a shopper’s haven, so be sure to find time to do some shopping during your trip there. On Orchard Road alone, you’ll find malls, department stores and retail shops selling clothes, shoes and bags from both local and international designers. The Tang Plaza, for instance, houses the TANGS department store, which offers local brands, such as MAX.TAN and Aijek.

To buy international brands like Zara, Ted Baker London and Armani Exchange, you can visit ION Orchard, a beautifully designed mall. If you want to get more out of your money, however, explore the Lucky Plaza and buy clothing items and keepsakes at low prices.

A Great Travel Destination
