BTS’ Jungkook has been synonymous with the phrase “multi-talented.” It’s because of this ability to excel at different things that he gained the infamous “the Golden Maknae” title.
You must be wondering what Golden Maknae means. Maknae is a Korean term for the youngest person in the group, may it be friends or family. Born on September 1, 1997, Jungkook is considered the maknae, followed by V who was born in 1995. When BTS debuted, Jungkook was just 15 years old.

Jungkook is a versatile main vocalist
As the main vocalist of BTS, Jeon Jungkook has a very unique tone of voice that has been quite trendy in recent years.
He’s a tenor with the lowest range of G2 and the highest range of A5. He can cover 3 octaves and a note. His voice can be soothing and can be powerful, depending on the song.
If you watch BTS videos as well as the hundreds of compilation videos on Jungkook online, you’d notice how he’s a genius at harmonizing. His skills when it comes to harmonizing technique is one of the best in the business. He can harmonize with any artist and even instruments.
Jungkook is an amazing dancer
Power is what you would think when you see Jeon Jungkook dance on stage. He’s part of BTS’ dance line the 3 Js, along with Jimin and J-Hope. Most of the time, he can be spotted at the center of the majority of their performances.
He trained in the US before his debut and has been training until today to level up his game each comeback. A “comeback” is a term used in K-pop to describe an artist or a group’s new album release or promotion.
While all members always kill it on stage and give 110 percent of themselves in each performance, Jungkook is the kind of performer who exudes power and he does go all out to the point of exhaustion.
Jungkook can shoot beautiful videos
Jungkook is also a producer of videos. In 2017, he has created Golden Closet Films or GCF, a travel video series that revolves around his bandmates. The videos are all shot, edited, and directed by Jungkook himself in his own studio.
Jungkook is a skilled video editor
Jungkook dabbled in the world of video editing and gained millions of views after releasing his first GCF video in 2017.
If you watch his first video, you wouldn’t think he was a beginner at the age of 19. He has grown and improved so much now that even professional video editors praise his editing skills. He has an online video portfolio that showcases his ability to produce, direct, shoot, and edit videos to that of a professional.
Jungkook is an excellent photographer

Jungkook can compose and write songs
All BTS members can write their own songs. Jungkook is often seen contributing to BTS’ music, some of his popular compositions are “Magic Shop” and “Love is Not Over” with his band member Jin.
Jungkook can draw
Jungkook’s talent in art and music also extends to painting and sketching. He picked up a new skill in the middle of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which is painting. He can be seen sharing his creations on Twitter. You can feel the aura of creativity or the orange aura emanating from him whenever he paints or draws an artwork.

Jungkook is very athletic
On top of being artistic and musically gifted, Jungkook is also very athletic. He’s extremely competitive and you can witness how hungry he is to succeed when he’s competing in sports.
Korean TV stations hold yearly sports competitions for idol groups and BTS joined back in their early years.
Jeon Jungkook might be the youngest in BTS but he’s also the strongest. He’s also incredibly fast.

Jungkook has a black belt in Taekwondo
Jungkook is clearly exceptionally athletic so it doesn’t come as a surprise that he has a red and black belt in taekwondo.
He has trained in taekwondo for eight years. This is a Korean martial art that specializes in high kicks. It’s hard to master and he was able to reach the black belt level at 15 years old, while training to be a part of BTS.
In taekwondo, the color of the belts represents the skill level of the martial artists or their rank. The white belt is given to beginners, and the red and black belts are given to the most advanced.
A red and black belt means that someone has a bo-dan rank. This rank is given to someone who is a candidate to receive a black belt in taekwondo.
An Inspiration to Everyone
BTS has gained success not just because of its beautiful and catchy songs, but also because of its personality and characteristics.
Jungkook is a wonderful example as he inspires many people to work hard and do the things they love.
This is a man who has been training in singing and dancing since he was in junior high school. He was able to attend school and master taekwondo all while preparing for BTS’ debut – and he didn’t stop there. He continued to learn new things and grow as a person even while he was actively promoting with the band.
Jungkook’s story is one that gives people strength and motivation to work harder.
